" Swamiji's blessings will not put food on the table. I am a private detective and I expect to be recompensed with a reasonable fee for my efforts" - Detective Tempo,The diamond Crown.

A popular ashram.

A coveted ceremonial celebrations.

A glittering crown.

An impossible robbery.

and There comes Laden with impeccable wit and boyish charm, the saviour - Detective Tempo

The diamond crown is a rather slim book barely ranging a little more than 100 pages with  a cover giving the classic pulp fiction. It has a simplistic, straightforward premise that fails to generate much interest in the beginning. However as the novel transcends it effortlessly metamorphoses into a sleek,no nonsense thrilling ride !

It falls under the usual detective novel genre where crooks commit  an assumably perfect heist but are ultimately outwitted and nabbed by a smart and suave investigator, leaving least scope for surprises and suspense. The writing is plain,to the point but appears dull at times. What works is the clarity of thoughts and lucidity of words making the novel a fair read.Despite the bumps this book is recommended for those who seek a light, frill free detective story
