My Take

Starting from the cover of the book is an abstract illustration of a woman’s face with the hairstyle flowing pattern in a colorful manner. The title of the book We Never Know is captivate.

The book is a bag of emotion, love, friendship, attraction, crush, laugh, heartbreak, fights, college life and drama. The book as it takes you back to your college life. You feel like that you are revisiting your college days.

This is the story of main protagonist Jigisha and her three years of college life. She hails from a small city of Ajmer and joins St. Edmunds College, where she was humiliated by the popular gang of students and she became fame from the first day itself. Sushant  came to her as a protector n friend stands by her side. But she falls in love with Nikhil on the other hand Nikhil was using her to win a beat. To know more what happened to Jigisha an unexpected twists and turns in her college life read the book.

“Coffee is the best way to start a conversation and it’s never a problem.
Leave aside your introspection, suggestion, observations or whatever I’m no bad person.
Don’t complicate this. I’m asking for simple coffee.”

The story is fast paced and plot of this book is simple and has nothing new to give. The language isn’t that impressive. At some points, it seems dragged and stretched a bit too far. It sounded more like a journal than a novel. Some scene are very much relatable like long-lost crushes and best friends. The characters are good but more strength would have added more weight to the plot. A few typographical errors here and there need to be rectified. If the edit was done properly, the story would have sounded much better. The story has a powerful message to deliver Jigisha after facing lot’s of struggles in her college she learned to face situations and transformed to a better human with new perspective towards life.

An engaging short and quick read you can take this upon a lazy afternoon for a light read.
