Gudi Padwa or Gudhi Padwa - the Art of Persuasion

It's has been years since the day I last wrote any blog. So If you are here, blame it on Coronavirus.  Let's get started with today's topic that is Gudi Padwa or  Gudhi Padwa - the Art of Persuasion.

Today is 'Gudi Padwa', and one of my friends who works in a marketing company wanted her design teammates to change the spelling of 'Gudi' into 'Gudhi.' But she failed to do so, and this is not because she was wrong. Even though she may belive, she is right, but because she is exceptionally not good in the art of persuasion.

So, 'what is persuasion? You must be wondering.

The simple definition of persuasion is - An act of convincing someone to change their beliefs into something you suggest.

So, 'How can you master the art of persuasion?'

One can easily master the art of persuasion if he/she has a sweet tongue.  For example, above I mentioned she failed because she is exceptionally not good in the art of persuasion. If I had said the same sentence like this -she failed because she is terrible in the art of persuasion. Then it would sound more like an attack, and obviously, due to human tendency, the other person would have reacted in a defensive way. Cutting short, I would have failed to change their belief into something I was suggesting.

Well, managing this in written format is still easier as you have all the time in the world to draft your message, mail, or whatever form of writing. But it becomes difficult when we are speaking. While doing this in person, you may think that the other person is stupid. Or, that person is so dumb. And, no matter how angry you feel (Some people do feel this, trust me!) you need to gulp all those thoughts, smile a little and start your conversation assuming the other person is the girl or the guy you are deeply in love with. This would make it comparatively easy for you to convince them.

Coming back to the title, 'Gudi Padwa or Gudhi Padwa' so my friend wanted to convince everyone that Gudi is wrong and Gudhi is right. This is difficult because even Google believes it is 'Gudi' and not 'Gudhi'.

Now you must be like, 'Many people have changed what the majority thought because the person who brought the change was right!'

Dude! Yeah, I know many people in the world even today or in our history has done that. But change didn't happen in a day, and if you want to change what the majority of people believe in, you have to invest years into it. Moreover, that must be your life goal.

Now, if you have just thought to make something your life goal, you must be sure of a few things!

One. Is it worth doing so?

Two. Are you sure you are entirely right?

Three. Can you see it through?

If all the answers are yes for you, then go ahead on your hard journey. All the best! And if you feel someday that you are stupid that you started on a journey like this, plus you are wrong!

Then remember there is a man named manjhi, he carved a path 9.1 metres (30 ft) wide and 110 metres (360 ft) long through a hill that is 7.6 metres (25 ft) high, using only a hammer and chisel.
