Biggest Unanswered Questions In Hawkeye

The Hawkeye season 1 finale was explosive and concluded a lot of storylines.

We finally got closure in terms of Clint Barton's (Jeremy Renner) mission in New York, as well as Kate Bishop's (Hailee Steinfeld) family problems. Both their journeys intersected violently with the likes of Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) and the Tracksuit Mafia eyeing their heads, but thankfully, the heroes crushed their enemies and started something new. Who Is This Kingpin - And Is He Alive?

Wilson Fisk finally made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Hawkeye, jumping over from Marvel TV. Since he was out of jail, much stronger and way more invulnerable than in Netflix's Daredevil, fans are wondering if this Fisk might have Super-Soldier Serum in him, or if he's a variant, which would mean the Netflix shows are, indeed, in another universe. In addition, it's never confirmed if he's dead, as the camera panned up when Maya allegedly shot him in the closing act.

Why Did Kingpin Want The Rolex Watch?

Hawkeye's final moments confirmed that the watch had a SHIELD logo on it and that it belonged to Laura, Clint's wife, aka Agent 19. It was never confirmed, though, if she was indeed a take on Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird. That said, it's a total mystery as to why Kingpin had the Tracksuit Mafia going after the watch. Maybe he needed it to access SHIELD buildings or the Avengers' databases, but it's never clarified.

What's Yelena's New Directive?

Clint finally convinced Yelena he didn't kill Natasha and she walked away heartbroken. But Hawkeye didn't show what she was up to afterward. Fans want to know if she'll continue to work with Val, as there's no more mission or leverage, or if Yelena will go back to Red Guardian and her family, as she's finally gained some degree of peace and acceptance.

Will we see Jeremy Renner return for future MCU projects 

It was initially assumed that Clint Barton would actually end up handing over the mantle of Hawkeye to Kate Bishop, with Yelena motivated to kill him. But he is left alive till the end and the series confirms that there is still a lot of fight left in the character. The ending of the series does not indicate anything regarding Jeremy Renner probably returning in future projects of the MCU because he reunites with his family.

Will Kate Bishop inherit the mantle of Hawkeye ?

The very initial theory regarding the series was that we will get to see Kate Bishop take on the mantle of Hawkeye.. While Kate Bishop is extremely talented, she is still required to prove herself worthy of taking on the mantle of Hawkeye in the MCU. Now that the ending saw Kate Bishop go to Clint’s house, maybe she will get some more training under him and actually end up taking on the mantle. But no such thing was indicated by the series as we saw Clint is very much still able to remain Hawkeye.
