An Interview Session with Author: Prachi Garg

Divya Rathore

Today I, Divya will be interviewing Prachi Garg who is an inspiring author, motivational speaker and a great entrepreneur.

As an author she has penned down three best sellers. Also her books have been constantly topping the non fiction charts at various book stores. She started "Ghoomophiro.com", which is pioneer in organizing corporate travel and have recently extended to solo women travel.

So let's start with the interview.

Divya: Hello Prachi, tell us more about your latest book ‘Super Siblings’?

Prachi: Super Siblings encapsulates the journeys of twenty siblings who have broken away from conventions and supported each other to startup their dream ventures. The book includes the journey of founders of wittyfeed, aspiringminds, poolmyride, and so on.

There is a general myth around sibling rivalries and through the book “Super Siblings”, I have tried to break that myth.

DR: Are you superstitious since all your books have the word ‘Super’ in them?

PG: Ahh!! Nothing like that.. it just that somehow to all of us including editorial team, this theme clicked and we chose to go for “Super” word at the start of every book. But your wait will soon be over as I am anticipating my next book with some different title.

DR: How is your relationship with your siblings?

PG: “Superawesome”. They are my lifelines and inspiration behind writing this book. Though both of them are younger than me but definitely smarter than me and keep encouraging me for creative work. They have peer reviewed all my manuscripts before I could send them to the publisher.

DR: Can you tell us more about your start-up Ghoomophiro.com?

PG: Ghoomophiro.com is a travel startup, where-in we curate team events for corporates and for solo women. We also help tourism boards in expanding their digital presence too.

DR: What difficulties you have faced while starting up Ghoomophiro.com?

PG: Being completely naïve in the field of hospitality, initial days were difficult to understand the client needs. Though all our endeavors are still towards client servicing, but every client is challenging in service industry.

DR: How has been the journey so far?

PG: Both as an author and as an entrepreneur, I have evolved as a person. These interactions have made me more informed and enlightened.

DR: Where do you see yourself 5 year down the line?

PG: Definitely as an author whose books are synonyms for understanding nuances of entrepreneurship.

DR: Any advice for budding authors?

PG: Never get disheartened with rejections. Always focus on the feedback and work on the same to improve your manuscripts. Read more before you write and always decide the target audience you wish to write for. This will help you to focus your writing to the people who can resonate with your thoughts.
