How To Get Away With SCANDAL - An Indian Viewer Perception

I am not an avid follower of US TV Shows till 2015.It was a chilling soft morning in September when I accidentally met Viola Davis. Do not jump to conclusions! I saw her while giving an acceptance speech at Emmy Awards ceremony.

“  The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is an opportunity. “.By just listening to this,I became a fan of the Viola Davis. When She is delivering her epic acceptance speech, Kerry Washington heartfully clapped and wooing with her smile.

I never expected these two fabulous actresses will share the screen.

Later I became a regular viewer of How to get away with Murder and SCANDAL and inevitably they became part of my Television schedules.

As there is a rare crossover is going to be witnessed by Viewers of both the shows I recall how this powerful characters connected in their unique worlds but having more or less same behavior patterns.

Losing Baby  Vs Loosing Freedom

Imagine when your daily routine deals with crime and some sort of guiltiness. You just want to knock the door of happiness with the first cry of your baby. The struggling Lawyer Annalise is nothing but desperate for happiness.

Annalise becomes more complex and mysterious after losing the baby in the (planned) accident.

On the other side of the coin,Olivia Pope loses freedom when she is kidnapped and suffocated with escaping thoughts and situations through that process.Olivia becomes extremely dominating after this. All She says like it is she has seen the hell already.

Loosing Power and Living like in Cage

There the most powerful women lose the power and become ordinary.

Annalise career is at stake after series of unpleasant incidents and she seems like quitting. But,you know this is the beauty of her complex character. It becomes spectacular to see the comeback of Annalise from Jail episodes.

On the other side,Olivia who taught “Survival of the fittest” is the only universal law by her father tries to become normal and tries to win the Presidential elections in a genuine manner. You know it’s not easy to be good out there in this world.

Balancing the crime

It takes a lot to balance the crime in the fictional worlds. Both Annalise and Olivia are nailed in this art.

Courts,Cops, and FBI may miss the criminals but these women never.

On the overall scenarios, these two characters promote a philosophy of Human becoming God and monster at a time.Yes.We all listened God punishes bad people.No.This characters are neither good nor bad. These are representing the thinnest line between good and bad. They are representing highly variable morals for survival.

But, these characters are not perfect.Their imperfections make you a perfect follower of them.I think this is where writers are doing magic in designing the best fiction.

Here Annalise solves the puzzles in mysterious cases and tries to benefit the clients. If you keenly observe the cases, even after escaping from court her shades doesn’t leave them.

Olivia manages any type of crisis but creates enough mystery in US Government operations.

Annalise, the mastermind of Law and Olivia who knows the power of Pennsylvania 1600 tower are going to meet for the first time.

It is a huge wave for an audience who are sailing in “Shondaland” Sea.

Is Annalise wants to get out of the crisis by taking the help of Olivia ?

Or Olivia wants some Law tips from Annalise?

Whatever it is,for an audience like me it is Win-Win to watch both these leading ladies sharing the same screen and is definitely not good for enemies around Middleton University and White House.

The episode is aired already on TV,interested people can watch it online.
