"Yeh sameer hai. Bachpan me dekha tha, lollypop khata tha, chhoti chaddi pehenta tha, badi shararat karta tha..."

It all started in 2006 when without high hopes, director Rohit Shetty and actor Ajay Devgn came together for a comedy film. No one expected that the film would be such a huge commercial success, but it was appreciated for its gags plus music.

I am talking about the movie Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. It was ultimate, right? The film was so successful that its two more successful sequels followed, Golmaal Returns and Golmaal 3.

The whole series was appreciated by the critics and now the fourth part is about to release, i.e. 'Golmaal Again' starring additional stars Parineeti Chopra and Tabu.

On this 11-year success, here I am with 10 secrets about the whole Golmaal series that most of us are unaware of.

1. Any idea why was the film titled 'Golmaal'?

Well, I know most of you did not know this, but the title of the film was based on the first few letters of the names of the four lead characters, that was- GOpal, Laxman, MAdhav, and Lucky.

In the first part, Gopal was the leader.

You can understand his terror from the famous dialogue... "Aaj aane do Gopal ko… Bol dunga saale ko ki… woh jo kar raha hai… Bilkul sahi kar raha hai… Gopal, yeh 2 kamine hai na… mujhe tumhare khilaf bharka rahe hai"

2. Did you know that Ajay Devgn's entry scene of Golmaal was a tribute to his own similar stunt?

Only a few people know that the entry scene of Ajay Devgn in Golmaal: Fun Unlimited was a tribute to a similar stunt in his debut film Phool Aur Kaante. At that time, the stuntman was none other than Ajay's father, Veeru Devgn.

3. Microsoft decided to use emoji of the film in Skype

It was an achievement when Microsoft planned to introduce an emoji of the film as well as several other Bollywood emojis in its video calling software Skype.

4. Golmaal was Ajay's comabck to comedy genre

Before Golmaal in 2006, the last comedy genre movie by Ajay was Masti that came in 2004. Golmaal became a comeback for Ajay into the comedy films.

There is one thing that every one of us missed while watching the series...

5. In every part, the actors imitate any other film or TV show in the movie.

In Golmaal, it was the film Black, with Arshad dressed up as the visually-challenged. Next, in the second part, Kareena Kapoor Khan recited dialogues from TV producer Ekta Kapoor's saas-bahu sagas. And later in the third part, Mithun Chakraborty mocked himself from his film Disco Dancer.

6. The fourth part is Ajay's 10th collaboration with Rohit Shetty.

The film marks Ajay's 10th collaboration with the director after 'Zameen', 'Golmaal', 'Sunday', 'Golmaal Returns', 'All the Best: Fun Begins', 'Golmaal 3', 'Singham', 'Bol Bachchan' and 'Singham Returns'.

Now let's talk about the fourth upcoming series, Golmaal Again.

7. For Golmaal Again, Tabu didn't have to use glycerine!

According to Tabu, "Golmaal Again' was the first film in which I didn't use glycerine. They were all bored of doing pranks on me. Everyone around me was having fun and no one took me seriously and therefore even I started enjoying along." Welcome to the Golmaal world, Tabu.

8. Are you aware of the fun the cast is having on the sets?

The cast and crew can't simply stop having fun on the sets. In a recent post on social media, Parineeti Chopra showed how much chemistry they share. In a group picture, her co-stars Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade sneaked in to strike a pose. Parineeti captioned the picture, "MY BOYS!!!! Cannot do without them @arshad_warsi @khemster2 #Shreyastalpade #GolmaalAgain"
